Book Summary - Irresistible: The Rise of Addictive Technology and the Business of Keeping Us Hooked

Technology is becoming addictive day by day. People, even after trying don't leave their phones/laptops/digital assets. In 2010, Steve Jobs launched Ipad. Everybody was convinced and purchased Ipads but, but he never let his kids touch Ipad.

The Internet itself is a very useful tool but using it over the required turns out to be it's a bad nightmare. We should use the internet with a limit. Anyone can become an addict.

Dong Nguyen, the developer of Flappy Bird, is the developer of one of the most addictive games of a time. In the starting, he himself used to play this game but when it gained popularity, he started earning $50,000 just from Ad revenue. People should use the internet in control. One of the installers of the game Flappy Bird wrote a review in the App store ""DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS GAME. I can't sleep, can't eat. I've lost all my friends, I play this game all day". He was one of the victims of the internet. The Game was so addictive that the developer, Dong Nguyen tweeted that he'll remove the app within the next 22 hours and he fulfilled his promise as well. This game turned out to be more addictive than cigarettes.

The only way to get rid of someone's addiction is to keep that person away from the thing to which he is addicted. For example, if you are addicted to online gaming, then never go back to that city, to that house or to the friends with whom you had this addiction. Always keep yourself away from such an environment where you get addicted to addiction.
